Fill: This column displays the fill of an insulating glass unit. There are three fill types used in this table: Argon; Air, represented by a dash ("-"); and for monolithic glass a blank is used to represent no fill is applicable.
Light to Solar Gain: The ratio of visible light transmittance and solar heat gain coefficient: VLT / SHGC.
Relative Heat Gain: The amount of heat gain through a glazing, uncluding the shading coefficient and U-value. Expressed in Btu / hr / ft2 (W/m2).
Shading Coefficient: The solar heat gain through a glazing relative to a lite of 1/8-inch (3mm) clear glass.
Solar Energy Reflectance: Percentage of solar energy that is reflected from a glazing.
Solar Energy Transmittance: Percentage of ultraviolet, visible and infrared light that is transmitted through a glazing.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient: The ratio of the solar heat gain transmitted into a space through a glazing to the incident solar radiation.
Ultraviolet Transmittance: The percentage of ultraviolet light that is transmitted through a glazing.
U-Value: A measure of air-to-air heat transfer (loss or gain). Lower U-values indicate a reduction in heat transfer through a glazing. This is the reciprocal of R-value.
Visible Light Reflectance: Percentage of visible light that is reflected from a glass surface. Includes measurements for exterior and interior reflectance.
Visible Light Transmittance: The percentage of visible light that is transmitted through a glazing.
